About Rayane Nour عن ريان نور

Cybersecurity researcher, privacy advocate, systems developer, and enthusiast of low-level architecture, Japanese animation, and minimalist technology.

Background & Profile

I am Rayane Nour (ريان نور), a security researcher, software engineer, and passionate advocate for digital privacy based in Morocco. My work is driven by a desire to understand software systems at the lowest levels of abstraction — from assembly instructions and memory layouts to the network protocols that govern our digital lives.

Throughout my journey, I have specialized in binary reverse engineering, vulnerability research, defensive systems programming, and privacy engineering. I firmly believe that in an era of pervasive data harvesting, understanding low-level computing is the most powerful tool for defending individual freedom and security.

Engineering & Privacy Philosophy

Digital Privacy as a Fundamental Right
Privacy is not an afterthought or an optional toggle — it is a core prerequisite for digital security and autonomy. I reject all forms of covert telemetry, unauthorized data logging, and surveillance capitalism. Every tool I design operates strictly offline and local-first.
Radical Minimalism
Excessive complexity is the primary vector for security failure. By adhering to the Unix philosophy — small, focused utilities doing one task with zero extraneous dependencies — we minimize attack surfaces and ensure software that users can truly trust and audit.
Memory Safety & High-Assurance Code
The overwhelming majority of severe vulnerabilities stem from memory mismanagement in native code. I advocate for building modern systems infrastructure in Rust while rigorously auditing legacy C and assembly components.

Personal Interests & Culture

Beyond security research and terminal sessions, I have a deep passion for Japanese animation, cyberpunk literature, and minimalist aesthetics:

  • Cyberpunk & Sci-Fi Anime: Deeply inspired by classic series exploring digital consciousness, networks, cybernetics, and human nature — including Serial Experiments Lain, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Steins;Gate, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Psycho-Pass.
  • Nord Aesthetic & Minimalist Workflows: All my research environments, editors, and tools are meticulously configured around the Arctic Nord color palette, providing an uncluttered, distraction-free atmosphere.
  • System Hardening & Privacy Ricing: Customizing Linux systems with kernel-level hardening, minimal attack surfaces, sandboxing, and strict firewall configurations.
  • Hardware & Mechanics: Passion for custom mechanical keyboards, low-power embedded computing (RISC-V / ARM), and efficient computing ergonomics.
